It's called a cat show, don't get me wrong I like cats, but this has got to be the dumbest idea known to man.

I went to a cat show today, basically it consists of row after row of little pup-tents (some with locks) and cages with cats lounging in them, most looked content, but I'm sure they'd rather be at home sleeping on their favorite piece of furniture. From there the cats get carried to "rings" where they are placed in small cages where they scowl at the passing people and the other cats before a judge plops them down on a central table and pokes and prods them, which the obviously don't enjoy. Come on, dog shows make sense, dogs like other dogs, they like to run around, and they like people. In general cats don't like strangers, they don't like other cats, and they could care less what anybody thinks about them.

Yeah.. but training and grooming a cat takes a lot of work. If someone's going to take the time to do it... I dunno. Then they probly shouldn't be rewarded for wasting all that time.

Yeah, I don't care much for cats, but if that's how you want to waste your time than go for it.

meh, people obsess and like to show off everything. if you pay money for a rare cat, at least you could get a ribbon for it.

Yeah. Cat Shows have been going on for some years now. Dog Shows came first, though.

God I hate morons that breed cats just for show. I've nothing against the throughbred's themselves, but the stupid fucking owners. Have you seen the Rag doll cat? It goes all floppy when it's picked up, it was bred that way. Some can't even breath properly because they made them look like bulldogs with pug noses, and as for hunting - forget it. What people will create for their own pleasure is disgusting sometimes.

all domestic dogs and cats are domesticated wild animals anyway... bred to be domestic. bred to look like that. bred to be homeworthy.

I realise that, but some people take it to extremes, that's all I'm saying.

I don't frequent the shows, but I do drag Pyrric to the animal shelter and pet stores to drool over the kitties. I wish I could have one right now...
