Why would some one ever make a new thread? WHyyyyyy to share something completely INTERTESTING with their fellow boarders. Maybe you have a funny story, a funny link, or some bad news to impart on everyone else. Maybe you would like some advice or you would like a change on the board. Maybe you're bored and you start up a little thread game.

Whatever the reason, you do it for entertainment for everyone involved.


So what if some one starts a thread that isn't entertaining and doesn't even provoke an answer, let alone a reasonable or interesting conversation?


I move that all Pointless Threads cease now and be added to the rules as a violation of board code. All threads found utterly and hopelessly pointless should be removed. If the author of the thread has any argument about the removal, they should take it up with the mod who removed it.

I don't think I have to name any names here.

Pointless threads should just be allowed to die a natural death. If they're that lame they'll just drop off the end eventually. I think that considering it a violation of the board code would be totally wrong - how does anyone know what is to be judged 'pointless' before they post? And how much hassle would it be for the admins to go round removing them and then take any bitching from the poster?
