So my mother went in for reconstructive surgery on Monday. Afterward when the finally got her into an ICU room, I bought some white lilies for her. I put them on her bedside and left so she could get some sleep. I bought her some more yesterday because the others went missing.

I walked into ICU today to go see her and noticed the new set was missing. I go over to the nurses station to ask where they keep going and caught a nurse walking out of the lounge. Inside the lounge was TWO bouquets of lilies. The same exact ONES.

WTF is wrong with people!?

So I approached the nurse about it and she started arguing with me saying I was lying. I went in there and pulled off the ribbon on the bouquet where the florist had written my mother's name. I was about to strangle the bitch with it!

Seriously screwed up. Can't even buy a nice set of lilies without someone trying to snatch 'em these days.

Aren't nurses supposed to care?

Many of them do. However, remember that a hospital is a business and like any other you are going to have your mix of nice people, meanies, and weirdos.

BTW, my best wishes for a speedy recovery for your mom.

This is true, this is true. They have her on a morphine drip. She gets dosed every six minutes by pressing a button. She cried like that was the worst thing ever. ONLY every six minutes does she get doped up again. ha!

She's a smart woman though. She took off the tape on her IV and taped the button down so when she fell asleep, she wouldn't have to wake up in pain from going without morphine for six hours.

She's so cute when she's doped up. ^.^
