I just can't get mine to light. Am I doing something wrong?

Oh believe me, I've tried the cold turkey method more than once. The longest I stayed of the ciggies was 8 months.. so the patch is a desperate last resort I'm afraid. I don't feel sick with it though.. yet!

The ultimate test will come when I get home and jump on the computer (not literally) as that's when I tend to chain smoke.. along with a few glasses of wine.

In my opinion the easiest way to quit an addiction is to replace it with something that will addict you short term, but in that short term, every spare waking moment.

So what I do is buy a computer game I know I'm going to like.

The only problem with that is that I have addictive personality.. and I'm already addicted to computer games, aswell as alcohol and fags.

Get addicted to cleaning? I did that once, I was very scary.

haha - I really should.. I'm such an untidy bugger... but somehow, I can't see that happening. The things I get addicted to, I actually find enjoyable!

I found the patches worked, but like you, my hands were freaking out at all the spare time.
So Mia, and pay attention as if it wasn't for these babies I might not have made it.
Peter is right, you need to switch addictions.
I smoked herbal cigarettes, and no, I don't mean weed, I mean those tobacco, nicotine free things that cost about £1.50 from Holland and Barret. It's like smoking thin air, in fact, your lungs get more of a kick breathing in after an extra strong mint, or if you stick your head over a boiling kettle (as you can see, I had a hard time giving up).
They only seem to come in menthol flavours these days, and so smell a bit like a mint josstick, but hell, it's something to light and suck on.
My husband STILL, after eight years of no smoking, gets the twinge, and when he does, he has a herbal. They are completely non-addictive and virtually harmless.
They're made by a company called Honeyrose, and what I loved most about them when I was a kid was A, the price, and B, there is no age restriction. A five year old could buy them. When my boob thrusting didn't convince the shopkeeper, I'd head off to Holland and Barrett, and so should you!

Oh yeah, the amount of times I've been served underage due to tacky boob use are numerous.
That, and NEVER pay for things with small change, even if it means going to a bank and getting some change first. I once tried to buy ten Red band with two and five p pieces, how dumb did I look.

On the other hand, there's a lot of dumbasses. I once went to a Circle K in Portsmouth when I was about fourteen, and being the tallest of the bunch, was sent in for four cans of lighter gas, two bottles of Thunderbird and 40 Superkings. Typical idiot girl night out, and the moron beind the counter served me no problem.

Although, I think the fact that in order to look scary and goth, I had put black eyeliner on my lips as we didn't have black lipstick back then, might have confused him.

I enjoy a cigarette... Really bad for me but I still like to smoke... Some guys find it unattractive... I don't give a shit... Been smoking for years now, its the only thing that stops me from pulling out my hair and going postal...
