Alright then. Last christmas I went back east to visit some of my family, which was o.k. However about a week before I left, I found out I have an older sister, which, to put it mildly surprised me("What the fuck do you mean I have an older sister!!!") Well as it turns out, she lives not to far from where my grandma works, and therefore I went to pay her a visit. I spent about three hours there, it was interesting. Since then we have stayed in contact, and I have come to this relisation: She scares the fuck out of me. Why does she scare the fuck out of me? Because if it weren't for the fact the age difference(she is 8 years older) one would think we are twins, we are so alike. This poses a very good argument for the whole Nature side of the argument. But at the same time, my older brother, whom I found out about when I was 16, is nothing like me. Now the whole mystifying part of this deal is the fact that my older sister is my half sister(we have the same father) where as my older brother is my full brother. Now as I said, my older sister has had no interaction with our father's side of the family, and, until he met my mother and I, he had no interaction with his real family, due to the fact that he was adopted. I will say this, it has left me being one confused man, just trying to understand all of this. I mean I had to tell my sister to quite being like me, as I am the only one who is allowed to be like me, my older brother, is almost the opposite of me, not very self controlled, thinks with his little head all the time, instead of part of the time, been in trouble with the law way too much, problems with substance abuse, repeatedly. It all makes for an intersting life, I will say that.... now I am just wondering what the next surprise is gonna be

i'm still amazed back at the part where you are finding out you have siblings out there.

I wish I could randomly find out I had an older sister.

Life certainly is full of surprises! But reading what you posted, I think it is really great to find out something like that. It is far better than not ever knowing and missing out on appreciating these people.

I am a twin, and my twin is not like me at all. Yet, we are still very close and know things like when the other is pissed off or upset about something. I think it's a good thing that you have the chance to get to know your siblings.

Now to the nature/nurture idea. I am a believer in the sheer power of nurture, however, there is a foundation in 'nature' that allows for the 'nurture' side to have certain effects. I think both have major contributions to the development of a human being.

No, not identical twins, considering he's male. My parents didn't treat us differently in any way, but we were left to develop our own interests and personalities.

But I know identical twins who are very different in personality, having grown up always together. I could always tell them apart from their behaviour.
