I just wanted to say that that is the stupidest term I have ever read. I really have a distinct distaste for it, everytime I see it. Is there really a need to shorten 'newbies'? Really? Or is it part of the whole social dislike for anyone new?

well, yes! brevity is desired if it says the same thing isn't it ? why say newbies when you can say newbs and the same understanding is there.

To be honest, alot of us do so anyway, as some sort of ....convenience buffer. As it is done by our 'peers' and thus makes communication easier. Or something clever along those lines.

That is the shittist term I have ever heard. Its corny,and sounds too much like Boob, and whats with the digits? 00? well for my explaining i would say that i am lazy sometimes... to even write the word "newbies" so instead i write it in short terms whick is noob...

N00b has a certain ring, a flair to it, that at once draws the newbie's attention to the condescending manner with which it is proclaimed.

Then, when the n00b's attention is sufficiently diverted, the ambush is set off, and the feast may begin.

n00b is relative. Here I'm like less than a n00b(if there is such a thing) but at POL I ain't a n00b, its all relative.
Still a good term though. Personally I'm against use of 'innit' regardless of the situation.*glances at ronny*
