Has anyone else noticed how men are always portrayed as idiots these days?

Seems it's O.K. to make a commercial (or TV show, or movie) where the man is a complete dolt and the woman comes in to save the day. I see it over and over. I just read this in a forum:

Hire a manservant. Someone to get things off of tall shelves/ carry heavy bags/ act as crowd clearance in busy areas/ make you nice drinks and yummy meals. Thats all you really need a man for anyway.

Substitute "woman" for "man" and there would be outrage.

Does this double-standard bother anybody else?

Its only true on TV and for men who have no balls. Men who aren't feminized, squat when they pee, "modern" types are the ones who most of us really are. We aren't PC, we don't fit in well on sitcoms that women and homosexuals watch because we aren't controllable and we have dreaded testosterone. Most fairy males call us cavemen, or macho assholes etc, they're just mad that we get women who look like the women they want and they get women who wear strap on dildos and fuck them in their ass every night and make them wash dishes and be stay at home dads.

in essence, it doesn't really bug me because

1. Fuck Television.
2. who gives a shit, i got better things to worry about.

What pay back? This only applies to men who are part of the new castrati. The rest of us still laugh at women who try to rule the roost and do our own thing and use up women when we want to for fun and then go on our merry way.

It can't be good for kids to grow up seeing men portrayed over and over as buffoons in society.

I can't think of a damn thing on t.v. that would be good for kids to see.

most of the kids that are growing up are being raised by single women, not fathers and watching the TV sitcoms that their man-hating mother watches. in short, the US is raising a generation of vagina's that just happen to also poses a Y chromosome.

I don't identify with any of the sterotypical gender roles. Nor would I ever want to. Most of the single moms I know don't have much time for television other than Barney, Sesame Street, and that other mindless dribble intented to stupify our children so we can stretch more bullshit into the daylight hours.
