I had a bad moment this past Saturday. My wife and I were dancing at the club to some 80s music we had requested, then a song I'd never heard before started playing. It had a typical house beat, but it wasn't as oppressive, and there was some melody to it with distorted vocals. We had stopped dancing when it started playing, then we started again after hearing about 30 seconds of it, and we commented to each other that whatever the hell it was, it was pretty good. We looked at each other in horror, then we laughed our asses off about it.

It's never an 80s night, but always a request night at this club. The average age is early 30s, but there are people from 21 to 50 in the crowd. When he's not getting requests, he reverts to typical dance club style.

closest thing in the past 5 years was Splash. That club didn't last long before it went downhill.

Splash was a revamp. Of course it failed!! it was geared towards the wrong crowds.
