Which ones do you use most and why ?

I use ICQ, for one main reason and its very important to me. I have a big contact list and if I'm doing something on the screen.. my taskbar stays pretty clean because ICQ doesn't need a window for every person sending me a message. Likewise, everyone sending me a message isn't going to take up space on my desktop either. With ICQ, its just a small icon in the SystemTray waiting patiently for me to open it and read any of a dozen messages that might be waiting.

If the others could do that, I'd probably be open to using them.

So, what about you ?

i use AIM simply because most of my friends have it.

i only use yahoo. don't like AIM coz you can't send offline messages, which sucks when you have at least a five hour time difference between you and most of your friends. love yahoo coz i can do webcam easily plus you can load naughty smilies

i used to use icq.. but my brother keeps fucking around with the computer and it'll crash... half the time i cant remember my number or password and lose all my contacts .. *shrugs*

hmmm MSN mostly - cause almost everyone uses it & AIM occasionally. Dont' touch ICQ anymore - too tired of people messaging me to cyber with them.

Use ICQ, Yahoo and MSN.

ICQ is the best in my eyes, as it has a lot of useful options and most of people I know use it as well.

MSN is second best option, simply because it shows a message in low-right corner of the screen, whenever anybody signs-in, i receive a mail, etc. It shows the message even when i am playing a game and it doesn't interfere with anything or minimizes any other windows.

Use Yahoo simply because i have some contacts there now too.

Tried using AIM and was absolutely disgusted with it...

Tried Trillian, but it did not have as many options as other messanger's had. It's good, but since i can afford some memory to use 3 messangers at the same time and i restart my PC like once a month (so i don't have to load all 3 messangers that often ), I use them for more options instead.

Yeah, I hate those messages as well, but i got those several times on Yahoo and AIM as well. Though ICQ beats all other messengers on their amount...

None of them becuase im lazy.

I use Trillian, basically because it can (once properly configured) do the same as all the other chat services as far as communicate is concerned.

I sometimes use Yahoo still, for cam and voice... The rest has simply become obsolete.

To configure Trillian to not pop up a message but notify via Tray go to:
- Preferences - Windows - Initial, select on creation: Notify via systray. It works just like on ICQ then.

I use AIM most cause my family has aol whom I hardly ever get to see. I use yahoo cause my boyfriend uses it and he moved to Arizona only 2 more years till he comes to get me hehe

i sometimes use aim and yahoo..

but not that often

aim just because i have some friends on it that aren't on msn and msn because i like the way it works.

i had icq and i loved it but unfortunately my ex did something with it and it started making my comp crash. and on top of that most of my friends on icq converted to one of the 2 messengers i have.

im not so fond of icq now, only because i downloaded the latest version and i hate it so much..

i want my old version back! *sobs*

but most of the people i talked to on icq moved over to msn..

I dumped ICQ because of how many easy ways there are to use it against someone.
