I've developed an addiction to ink. i'm completely and totally addicted to it.
i got my first part of my first done today, and i can't wait to go back and finish this fucker off and start on another!
i finally found a tattooist i like, whos an awesome artist, and an awesome bloke, and loves my ideas and is willing and most importantly able to draw them with me!
gotta save me up £250 for my outline on my back which is what i think i might have once this one is finished. which will probably cost me another... hundred or so.
any of you lot develop an addiction after getting your first cut?

I know what you mean, you should however wait like a year before you get your next one. They lose thier novelty after about 6 months and then you start thinking "eh I should have gotten something differnt, or nothing at all" SO dont get like 5 Tattoos within like 6 months of each other. i've spent the last four years designing the tattoos i want. and i'm getting ones done out of all the designs i've thought up that have really stuck in my head. this one im working on at the moment has alot of meaning to me, and means alot to me. and will never wear off.
i do realise the novelty may wear off, but i've prepared for that. i'm well aware of such, and i will always make sure i am happy with what i'm getting. im a perfectionist. and i know they last forever. so im getting tattoos done that i will never regret.

I need to look through old journals and what have you to get a clear picture and then all I can think about is what a fucking mope I was. Thus the tattoo loses some of its significance to me. But if you know what youre doing it will probably turn out ok. I wouldnt ever regret getting a tattoo of my mother name or a cross with the date of her death or anything like that, but all I am saying is that sometimes what is meaningufl one day isnt a year later.

i'm only hooked in the sense that i know what i want, i know what's going to be required in terms of time and money, and i'm willing to go through with it. i do have a final goal in mind, and it will be many years before that's done, so for me, it's just a slow process. i don't really do small pieces anymore... i'm into large-scale artwork. i have one arm done, i just started on my other arm, and from there I'll move onto my chest, back, and hopefully neck/throat. my ideas are always pretty complicated, and since I want my body art to work as a unit, i gotta practice forethought and patience; nothing goes on me until i'm sure it's ready to. my artist is a flippin' genius too, so I only really want him touching me hopefully he'll live to be 100

yeah i spose your life changes, but the tattoo ive had done now, is pink floyd related. and music never dies, even if the artists do.
they'll always remain my favourite band of all time, and favourite artists. specially david gilmour. i can't wait til he's touring again.

i've got 12 hours worth of ink on my arm and i'll definitely be getting more. my main problem though is that when i have time, i don't have money... and when i have money, i don't have time.
i'd like to start on my left arm sometime this year, but i've been saying that since last year, so hopefully i'll stop being lame sometime soon and get my shit going. eventually i'd like to have both arms, my back, my sides and something either on my chest or my stomach. i'd love to have something on the side of my neck, but i'm just worried that it will limit job possibilities. I think the buzzing and vibrating is kind of soothing. The only real pain I've experienced is when I got the tat on my upper arm fixed. The needle inking on top of scar tissue was pretty uncomfortable. In Memory of the Busby Babes :

Some will. It depends on the artist and if they have enough skill and pracital work with people who have scars. I should know I have a shit lot of scar tissue. It's best to do a sample on the area with scar tissue first to know how it will look. Also it pays to be thoughtful on color with reguards to scar tissue as well.
For some reason I don't take black well at all. No matter where it is, the black always goes to blue on me. And when I was pregant I had my 2 tats for along time and the ink leeched out so bad I have to have them recolored.
I only have 2 and my artist was killed defending one of his friends at a COC concert so I am currently searching for a new one.
You want to hear about hard.....try finding someone who can do a good cover up job for less then 2,000$!
My husband finally found someone to do his coverup and the guy is really great so I'm thinking of heading to him to replace my deceased artist.

I so hear you on that one...
I work for the government so didn't get my tat on my back as high up as I wanted it. It just comes to collar level, but really I wanted it up to the base of my skull To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

and yeah, i don't have neck tats for the job reason, too. i don't ever want a corporate job or anything, but i'd like to have something professional.
