Along the same lines of all the other stupid questions
if you had to suffer the debilitating handicap of being an idiot, would you rather, A. Be born with it, or B. Suffer some accident that causes you to lose a degree of your mental facilties causeing you to be an idiot.
My vote is A, I would rather be a blissfully ignorant idiot then an idiot who thinks they used to know something.
That would probably be the answer to any question about a handicap. I'd say it's probably easier to cope when you have to do it from day one rather than have a faculty and then have it suddenly stripped. Vision, hearing, ability to walk, intelligence...it all pretty much works the same way.

What is lost can usually be regained (sometimes). I'd choose B.
I'd like to know that I was smart and good at something in life, and living out a brand new life. Plus all the endorsments from people who want me on their Show to show "This great guy lost it all" moments. Mental retardation (going to the extreme here) isn't any fun at all, but from what I can tell you can still live happy.
