I have you know I'm not the one who tired the seafood varities, thank you very much, that was my mother.
This is the reason my husband refuses to take things out of our freezer, last time he thought something was safe it turned out to be the octopus my mother bought for sushi!
Worse yet the Godfather of our son is from China (defected for political reasons) and a extremely famous acupuncturist (in China he was the head of a medical school) in addition to running a school here, anyway he is always giving us something for colds, pulled muscles, headaches you name it. I learned the hard way
never ever ask what is in the pills, powders, or teas because you will regret it. The ingredints sounds more like a zoo or third world buffet instead of medicine.
Complete segway-----I went out and got three very normal flavors of ice cream last night
Besides it is an insult to refuse something with reguard to Asian culture (no matter how odd it looks or tastes) when it is given to you. Due to this one reason I have become pretty good at not batting an eye when one of our various friends gives us food, drink or medicine.
I won't even go into how pissed off the Hatians get when you attempt to turn down a meal (side note I have learned that goat doesn't taste that bad if you just pretend it's something else).
