How much do you spend on Clothes? - 08-19-06

If you saw a baseball cap you really wanted, or t-shirt, pants, ect. How much would you pay for it?
How much do you spend on clothes?

I personally am dumbfounded how much people will pay for new clothes - but I thought I'd ask anyway.

I spend maybe $100 on clothes a year

Once or twice a year I spend 2 or 3 hundred dollars at Old Navy/Gap on outfits for work, and I pick up a couple pairs of jeans or a few shirts from outlet stores a couple of other times. Then, of course, there are socks & intimates that disappear in the wash and have to be replenished from WalMart or somewhere.

I NEVER buy outer clothes from WalMart The fabric looks cheap, and the sleeves/pant legs that are an inch or so shorter than they are at higher-priced stores.

I spend around £30 a month on clothes, so maybe a new pair of jeans, a skirt or a top each month. Not huge amounts, but enough to consider it a treat.

I think this year is exceptional because I've just been to Bangkok, Hong Kong and Beijing where I spreed hard out.

Normally though, I would spend around $300 a year on clothes and that includes shoes.

I don't buy anything over $100NZ which is about $60US I think...I think it is a good standard to go by.

Doesn't mean I have shit clothes, I just know where and what to buy. Factory shops in Hong Kong were awesome, I got Adidas boots less than half price

I don't have certain shops that I buy in, my clothes come from lots of different places. I think I tend to buy clothes more at markets where you get one offs and stuff that is imported.

have you seen my marbles?

I'm usually very cheap. But since I moved, have a new job, and need to look QUOTE-UN-QUOTE spruced-up, I've spent maybe about $100 on shoes, two pairs of khakis, and one shirt. Sigh...fuckin' $100, which could've went to a better purpose...such as DVD's and alcohol!!!!!

I pay way too much, I don't care what they look like just as long as they are pants, mini skirts, mini dresses and black I'm good.

I try to only spend about 200 dollars a year on clothes, but shoes is another story... while i might only buy 1 pair every few years, I usually spend a significant amount of money on them (2-300)... foot comfort is more important.

Not much.
I either buy fabric and make my own skirts (my mom makes the more complicated stuff haha, I'm not that patient with a sewing machine) or for pants I go to the recycleshop (2ndhandshop) or Armydump, for €5 a good pair of pants is enough.
(I only wear pants at work at the shelter, otherwise only skirts, I don't have jeans either)

If I buy in regular shops, it is not designer or with some kind of brand, too expensive to just pay for a name.
H&M has nice things, or ebay.

This year I will buy a new wintercoat, I've worn my old one for 6 years (if it isn't broken why replace it)
Same goes for shoes, especially Docs, they last 8 years sometimes even more when you take good care of them :-)
I do have some 40's style shoes and boots, to go with the 40's styled clothes (from 2ndhandshops mostly) which were a bit more expensive.

it depends what it is really.

at the moment i'm buying myself at least one piece of clothing a month from www.tshirthell.com, and i happen to be wearing one at the moment they cost me about £17-£25 each.

i spend up to £40 on shoes, which invariably are vans, since i find them exceptionally comfortable, though i do own a pair of swear ankle boots/trainers as well as owning various pairs of smart leather ankle boots, and some steel toes for walking, working on the car, etc etc.

i mostly wear jeans, of which i spend a grand total of £5 on each pair, from matalan. i couldn't give a shit if they had levi or wrangler or whatever on them, it's all denim. i own about 20 pairs of jeans, in different sizes.

i do own some quicksilver jeans, which i love, and they cost me £35.

my last pair of sunglasses just got stolen, they were rectangular lensed kangol sunglasses. i'm thinking of buying me a pair of oakley sunglasses, but i don't wanna spend any more than about £80

i will spend up to £200 on coats. i love coats. my best one, i made. and it cost about £250 in material alone. at £40 a metre for the most awesome purple velvet, and the crease resistant specialist material, and all the buttons, yeah it cost quite a bit hehehe

i have bought new rock boots in the past, costing me £160, but i rarely wore them. i want to buy a small ankle pair, but i'd rather have a pair of swear boots i saw, but i can't find them anywhere now.

underwear, YSL or Calvin klein butterfly boxers.

socks, black cotton sports socks.
