It's too much at once. Breaking down and rebuilding the outer fringes of human perception should be a gradual process taken one step at a time otherwise the impact is diminished. That's why modern society has become so desensitized, we are bombarded by more information and impressions than we have time to digest. de vagorum ordine dico vobis iura

Well, if you keep on clicking on the image, it zooms in closer and closer, so its really not too much to take in at one time.

i want to buy a print of this. | I was just saying that I don't really like it and my reasons why. I really prefer to take my time and think through what I see in sequence, maybe I'm old fashioned. de vagorum ordine dico vobis iura

i'm not bashing you, and i totally understand what you mean.
lots of paintings, poetry and music are meant as contemplative, singular pieces meant to be wholly absorbed before moving on to the next thing.
for the most part, thats' the best and most personal way to view and appreciate them. however, the bash and pop forms of any artistic medium, when done well are often frenetic, exhilirating, full of emotion, and can evoke intense reactions in a shorter, more intense, but no less meaningful burst.

[meaningless babble] This has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of this thread, but since I'm the one who started the thread, I get to post whatever I want to post, right? That being said, I wish there was a shout box on this site. Shoutboxes are my friends! [/meaningless babble]

Hiermonious had a knack for appropriately spacing different scenes as well. In fact, upon even further examination I feel that the Picture of Everything is little more than a poorly drawn Where's Waldo. Funny that he wasn't included . . . Not that I noticed him mentioned in any of the highlights. de vagorum ordine dico vobis iura

Badly drawn. Needs Alex Ross to spend the rest of his life to redo it all. Work is of two kinds: first, altering the position of matter at or near the earth's surface relatively to other such matter; second, telling other people to do so.

it reminds me of that crazy folk art where the old hermit cuts used bits of tin into uncle sam and devil shapes, paints them and hangs them on a fence by the dozens. you hope your car doesn't break down while you drive by, yet you have to look...
