ok, so who here would eat food past the date of expire?

Normally I never do, however, I was eating a box of KD today and I decided to look at the date for the hell of it. It was "use best before september 2004" ... well anyways, it tasted fine, and I have been eating them since last year as I bought a box of like 50 last year sometime. I am still alive ... however, after knowing this, I had to throw out the 2 remaining boxes I have ... just in case.

Never with dairy products. Sometimes with other things.

I don't know why KD has an expiry date, after all, its just noodles, well I guess it could be the cheese sauce mix, but thats just dry powder untill you add something to it. That is why I was not overly bothered by it.

my dad used to cut the bad part out of foods(everything from cheese to bread to fruits and vegies) when i was a kid and feed it to us and since i have found that out ick out it goes
i am odd that way dont tell me it has gone a day or 2 over and i am fine as soon as i know i gag.....
on the topic of bad food i have peeve ppl who dont put stuff in the fridge that needs to be in the fridge!!*read the lable*!

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Things like dairy and anything that is animal based needs throwing out, and anything that can go moldy or soft, or hard.

Anything processed is not a huge deal, they always underestimate the dates anyway.

Sugar fascinates me. Being a preserative itself, as long as it's kept dry and secure it technically never goes off.

we had a family friend (some old dude) who did the same thing. my mom would drag us over to his house and he'd be in the kitchen carving the mold off of something, and then he'd as us if we were hungry. the only fuzzy thing i enjoy eating is pussy and even that i prefer without fuzz.

i prefer the sniff method....if it smells horrid, throw it out, otherwise, itz all good....

I don't mind. Then I mostly eat vegetables and they don't tend to have an expriy dates.

There are 2 pots of fromage frais in the fridge which have been there for at least a month, I'm going to look at them this evening and see how manky they are.

Beware raised up lids, that's gas in there forming.

If its past the date...even by a day...i throw it all out.
Even when im at the store...If i see some (which lately there has been alot)...i just throw it away... I have issues!

One of them is fine, so I'm going to eat it, even though officially it went off a week ago.

I'm not picky. If it's not dairy, I'll eat it if it smells okay. Or even mildly okay.

No, don't eat things that expired. Got food poison bout a yera ago so I'm pure picky over things like expiry dates, but my mam has this idea that if you put food in the fridge that even if its been there for years its still grand cos its in the fridge.

well, see, in most cases the expiration date isn't the actual final date......itz usually like a week after or sumtin'.....they figure some people eat food past the expiration date, so itz not the actual date......

chances are, even a couple of days after the expiration date, the food will still be good

i mean, people get so freaked out about food.....you gotta remember that they didn't have freezers and shit in the past.....they used to store meat in barrells full of salt......

so.....yeah, it'll be fine if it goes a few days after the expiration date....

what about a few years, I remember one time, I found salad dressings dated 1986 in my moms fridge, oh, did I mention, this was in year 2000 that I found these.
