Bardot, you may have noticed that we have a very organized operation here. The forum is divided into sections in which almost any topic might fit. From there, the topic itself should clearly be defined and an argument/comment/statement/question should be presented with the first post. Most of our surviving threads deal with the various intricate differences between everyone's opinions. Thus, we speak of the same subjects, but the conversation itself undergoes constant evolution, and is revived with almost every relevant reply. I'm pretty sure most of the regulars here prefer this. It allows us to pursue many of our primary interests in conversation, we do not have to participate in a topic which we know little about or are not comfortable with. Such a setup actually cuts down on the meaningless threads quite a bit. The general forum is a poor representation of the rest of DarkForum's sections.
