So just outside of Wells Nevada, there was a 6.0 quake. It was over a day ago, but they are still experiencing aftershocks.
Poor bastiches never thought it would happen there..

Ha... someone at work asked me if I felt that trembler... I laughed and said that unless I am right on top of a 6.0 or larger I do not even notice it since I was raised in the california earthquake belt

OH, that 7.5 was reduced to a 7.4.. And at that magnitute, it still doesn't rate on the top ten list started in 95..

I remember that one It was the Loma Prieto Quake and was centered over 200 miles from where I was passing through. I watched a huge fuel truck warble back and forth like a kid was playing with it.
That was a fucking crazy quake.

I used to be prepared with our emergency backpacks and all, but you have to replace everything every two years and that's a real pain.

I just make sure to keep food and water stocked... I used to make sure and keep the car gassed up but where would we drive to? We're on an island.

we only gt after shocks here. though i keep hearing that one of nuclear plants is on top of a fault line...

well, you haven't had any in the last week that i noticed.. Of course, anything under a 2.0 isn't really an earthquake..

my friend's boyfriend is in Thailand on vacation. for the past few days, she hasn't shut up about it. it wasn't that serious in any case. the south pacific usually gets higher magnitudes, but from the little i've followed on this subject, something about the tectonic plates in that area + the ocean reduces much of the potential damage to land. a 6.0 could technically cause much more damage in North America, especially along the Juan de Fuca and Nazca plates.

geology 102 taught me that much at least.

Hey as long as it wasn't near my daughter, I'm cool.... course I am waiting for the day that "big one" I heard so much about in school hits Salt Lake, and the entire place sinks. Take that you mormon bastards. Here its not so much earthquakes(though there is a still a possibility there is an inland fault going through missouri) but tornados...... still have yet to see one of those

Eh just head for the benches....... I doubt those rich assholes have anything to worry about...... and it would be wicked watching the Wells Fargo tower come crumbling down, i have a lot of "favorite" people I would love to have under the falling glass. However there is one difference between SF and SLC: SF wasn't built in an ancient sandy lake bed with few building that have their foundations built down to the bedrock. Course they also say that the Great Salt Lake could also go tsunami as well so.......

SF was built on a lot of landfill. Some of which in '89 went squishie. Turned from solid land into mud.
Alot of the buildings are STILL not up to code and it is a miracle they remain standing.
I will hopefully be out of the earthquake death trap I live in now before it hits
