For those of you who don't know these names: Cable or Sattlite?

They both have limited arse choices in terms of channels.

i had direct tv and loved it. i also have cable internet and love it...i'm no help...

Okay, well as it turns out DirectTV only offers the premium channels in my area, they don't carry fox, cbs, abc, any of the "normal" channels. Cable it is.

i watch primarily under 10 channels. discovery, learning, history, cartoon network, speed (which sucks now), weather, and comedy central. who ever can give me those the cheapest wins.

I get Dish Network. It offers up two choices, the "big amount" and "small amount." Big amount's a crapload of channels and small is a crapload of channels.
I get small and I don't find myself missing much.

The only channel I wouldn't mind getting is FX.

However it doesn't interfere with my normal channels(Fox, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS and PAX and all that), and I can also get "local" channels from other areas in the states(I get a station based in Colorado, one in new jersey area and another someplace around california).

I looked at the Dish Network, too, but it was the same price and channels as Time Warrner, but Time Warner is the main deal around here, so I don't ever have to worry about it screwing up. I'm now debating on what channells to get. I want Playboy, but don't know if that's very appropriate with a toddler running around.
