This morning, it took me 20 minutes to get a login screen.

constantly barricaded by "server busy messages" and also, the lovely " 505 server error message "

finally i was able to get a login screen. five minutes later, i logged into my cp. i then did as i always do, opened up my subscribed boards, tablature style.

two came up with 505, the rest with server busy. over the next 15 mins, slowly each of them loaded up properly, the last one 5 mins after the rest. i then tried to access the main darkforum boardlistings, this took another 5 minutes.

i looked at who was online.

me, and apparently 55 guests. the others being yahoo slurp spiders.

now, the server seems to be running ok, i can click on a page, and it will come up.

it's listed as 69 (1 members and 68 guests) 4 of whom are guests, and the rest slurp spiders.

i'm kinda used to df being really shit to log in to, and try to view pages on, but this is really, well, awful.

the servers changed recently without us being told, and got much worse than they ever were, 98% of imagery was lost, and i have no idea why really. why has df become such a dead horse?

i dunno if there's problems with capital raising due to advertisers, or gpants is in a spot, i dunno. but it seems that we've been reduced to really fucking poor servers, that can't handle 1 member and no guests, but can handle 1 member and 5 guests (absolutely fuck all logic there) and basically suck ass at what they do.

this has been going on for quite a long time now. we've endured wierd popups, page hijacking, redirection, adverts after nearly every post on the screen (which i didn't mind, because the server ran ok and we could still post)

i just dont know any more. the amount of people who are actually posting here has really dramatically dropped. i log on each day, and find that there's been hardly a 10 posts in each of the boards. i get excited when i see a new thread. new people, i hardly see any. its just not going right. and i dont know what could be the problem other than people are not bothering because they can't log in.

all i'm asking for, is a single post, with a decent explanation. not from a mod. from the modfather. as to why servers changed and so much was lost, why these irregular wierd problems come up and we can't log in, all that really. i have respect for you, not poking at you, and i'm glad you took the job and have done good over the years.

basically my polite suggestion is, i know you've done a great job keeping them up, but if its a problem then perhaps its time to pass the torch. i know there's quite a few people who are members here that are able to run forums, and can afford to keep them running. maybe its time to consider this.

Sorry about that. I'll see what I can do to fix it. I've contacted the server guys lots of times and it hasn't helped much. I'll have to move this again to a faster server.

Any suggestions for any good hosts?

Well I will tell you this, all the pages I try to visit go all screwy, wacky, and just down right fuckered up on me. I have no buttons save for the quick reply and go advance, everything else is shown as a link with the whole underline deal(I forgot what its called, I learned HTML when I was in the eighth grade and that was like 8 years ago).

Yes garg.... please try to keep us in the loop with stuff.... we would really appreciate it.... i know we can (the mods) be a bitch to handle at times but we do what we can to help you out and reciprocation would be very nice
