We know that we have a pretty possessive, semi-elitist community but that does not excuse the attitude and abusive comments aimed towards people who are either new or have different beliefs than you.

Double posts are annoying.. Newbies can post in the wrong places.. But it does happen and mostly its a mistake.

Instead of:

Try something more decent/civil/intelligent.

The current attitude of some posters will only drive new people away from this community and this is something we will not accept.

Anyone caught being abusive for the above reasons will be warned and then banned.

be prepared for the worst and not take it so seriously....

of shit and yet he is still here merrily postin away.....

problem is, some of the "higher" people in here, will get ignored for doing this kinda shit... because of who they are. but i do agree. semi elitist as it is, this must be sorted out.

I don't know that there is really any way to solve it that's fair to everyone. This is an issue that has been raised ever since Sire took over this board and turned it into darkforum.

Too often here, the cliques of people band together and attack no matter who is wrong or right.. or who makes the better point in an argument or discussion. They gang up on new members that rub them the wrong way.. gang up on older members that have the audacity to challenge them.

This is a place where many people with many clashing personalities come together. It's sort of imitating real life.

If a person can't handle a little bit of ribbing from faceless people on the net.. then would this site really benefit from having them here in the first place? And would the site really benefit from having some of its original members get irritated and leave... when a lot of us have helped shape this site from the beginning?

I was going to say sonething along the same lines as wicked but she worded it better than I could I haven't been around for a while but I see the same old same old is going on, so when I do get my internet connection at home at least I know nothing too much has moved on I think some of the new members do occasionally just join to see how many people they can insult in thier first post, the usual troublesome kids that register just to take the piss, but those aside most new members are given at least a bit of a chance, when I first joined I got some shit, but hey, I am still here (When I can be)

I completely agree with everything that you said. I caught shit, you caught shit, Pyrric caught shit...everyone has caught shit here in one form or another unless they signed up after one of their friends who had already established themselves.

Shit, the only reason the newbie thread was created was to keep everyone from bitching about the threads they kept making. It was cluttering up the board and drawing attention away from the regular posts. Personally, I don't feel it necessary to greet every new person to this site. If I run across them somewhere else I will be civil and go along my way. Some people like to say hello to everything that is in front of them, and they can offer the nicer greetings in the thread. If one person is 'allowed' to do it and not get flamed, then the rest will follow suit.

It's also interesting to note that the Advice board wouldn't exist without XBeautysDemiseX's suggestion. And the Bitch, Bitch, Bitch board (from which the current Bitch board came from) also wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the constant whining of us older members when Sire first took over. So we helped create this site as much as garg.. and more than almost any other "newer" user.

Hey hunny I missed you too, I missed everyone. I am still in touch with Area but I never managed to get over there to him, we both found other people.
Although now I have told my significant other to significantly fuck off, so little me is single and Area is happy with his g/f. I don't hold any bitterness though as we are so very far apart and I want him to be happy, if his happiness is with someone else then I cannot stand in his way. After all we only know each other as letters on a page/screen and voices on the phone. I am just glad we stay in touch

By all means- obviously it has nothing to do with me- but at some point or other everyone got the newbie comments, it was like the initiation ceremony and in many cases it helped streamline the posters on here. It seems slightly unfair to cut it out here.
