I'm kind of middle of the road on the subject of the death penalty.
What bothers me is that our justice system is no where near certain enough to be capable of passing out a death sentance, but I agree that there are circumstances when people should be removed from society. Either by deportation to a prison nation (No Escape style) or by being put to death.
As for torture, I firmly say no to that idea. For many reasons, foremost being that torture implies taking enjoyment and satisfaction in the pain of another, I feel that this is wrong under any circumstances. Also, where is the line drawn? Is it enough or ok to simply sodomize the child molesters? Or do we use an oversized razor-barbed dildo lubed with vinigar and rock-salt on them?
I don't think that reprogramming is ok either. It's far to likley that it would or could be misused.
