Take a look at this fucking asshole!

My Asshole of the Week award is going to none other than Michael Schiavo. This guy is a Grade-A asshole. He's not a murderer like many on the right will have you believe. However, he is a selfish motherfucker.

Let's examine his behavior a little more closely. His wife has been a vegetable for over 15 years. So he moves on with his life. Can't blame him. He now has a common law wife with whom he as a couple of rugrats. Good for him.

Now Terry's parents beg him to keep their daughter alive. They release him from all obligations. Why is it so hard for this motherfucker to say yes? I'll tell you why. He hates Terry's parents so much so that he'd rather see her dead so that he deprives her family of any joy. He's a fucking grinch.

How do I know this? Am I a presumptious asshole? Probably. But let's look at the evidence. Terry is experiencing her last breaths. What does he do? Reconcile with her family and witness the death together. No. He kicks her mother and father out of the hospital room. And this bastard has kids. He knows full well what that would do to the parents of a child.

After Terry is dead, what is his decision? Well, he decides to have her cremated and then proceeds to spread the ashes in an undisclosed location. What? This guy is such a selfish monster that he won't even let Terry's parents know where her remains are so they can visit her final resting place. Fucking selfish monster.

What should happen to Micheal Schiavo for being such a hateful bastard? Well, in a just world, he would be cornholed and shot without any further delay. But I think there is a law against that kind of behavior. So what can we do? Pretty much nothing, my friends. However, we can call Michael out for what he is--a real fucking asshole who needs to learn the meaning of the word compassion.

Oh go to Hell, ya little dink. That's like, 2% of the whole story. He wasn't going to spread the ashes in an undisclosed location; he was going to have them buried in her hometown. Her parents wanted her buried in Florida so that they could visit her grave. What the hell kind of psychochurch do you belong to? The Chuch of Misinformation?

And what difference would it make to the kids? She's never going to function again; it's just like having a body there to call "Mom." Cheers to Michael for putting up with such a shitstorm, and ultimately doing what his wife wanted him to, and what was most logical. Who was playing God more: the person who removed the feeding tube, or the person who put it in?

Now that's an interesting question. Suppose he hadn't been a total asshole about it. If he had taken care of her, given her therapy etc. etc. and taken care of her the best he could, would it have been wrong for him to fuck her?

Isn't that like... Rape or something... Technically she didn't give him consent.... Why are we discussing sex with catatonic women? Doesn't that seem a little sick to you? heh

anywho.....so, like, here's another interestin' question....say he did fuck her, and then he spooged inside her, she could still get pregnant right? and like, would she be able to carry that baby? and like, what would the courts have to say about that? hmmm....i wonder

Dependant on the injury she could still get pregnant, and carry it, but in her case it would be unlikely. She may well still have menstuated but the chances of ovulation are very slim.
However, if she did get pregnant, and it's not unheard of women with major physical and brain disabilities to, carrying the baby probably wouldn't be a problem.
They baby would be delivered by ceasarean as she couldn't physically push.

If she was capable of some communication a carer/husband could argue that she consented, and they would have custody of the child in the normal manner.
But, with such neo-cortex damage as Terri she was incaple of physical sensation, so it would be possible for disapproving family members to claim sex was pointless, therefore unlikly to be consensual.

It's the lack of reaction that's the problem.
There's a man who I nursed for a year up until his death. He was pretty much paralysed and incapable of communication from a brain tumour (actually, he never had one. They mixed up his charts and opened up the wrong man's head and caused him to spend ten years in bed).
However, he used to get erections when you washed him, and his wife used to visit him every couple of days, and give him a quick hand job.
He never verbally consented or gave her physical confirmation other than a basic physical response, but it didn't seem weird to anyone.
I wonder what people would think if a man was to do that to his wife.
