theres all the names for things too... not just words....

fruits, meats, ways of cooking, all came about from when the english employed french chefs to cook their food...

lots of mistakes were made too in the translation... such as grapes and raisins...

the french word for grape is raisin, and the english used to get theirs imported from france...of course by the time they got them, they were dried out.. and turned into what we know as raisins... but a raisin, in france, is what we know as a grape... but of course english hadn't seen a raisin in its grape format...

i'll bring you up to date. there was a big push in the US against france due to they're stance on the war. so everything to do with france was renamed freedom. instead of french fries, our lovely retarded congress renamed them freedom fries, so on and so forth. what they are doing here is using freedom in place of any french word that has been intigrated into english/american.
