It's strange how most places really are losing their culture to Americanism. I went to Germany the other summer & all of the TV was American shows, with few exceptions. All of the radio was American songs-- I don't know that I heard more than 10 German songs the whole month that I was there with my host family with the radio on. Meanwhile, everyone there spoke English. A lot of them wouldn't even speak German to me because they wanted to practise their English. When I inquired, they told me that most of Europe was like this.

I can see what youre saying but its like that here as well...i mean we took in students from other countries as well and mainly exposed them to what the would be familiar with. Like we had this on kid Stefan from Germany and most anyone in our area who could speak german only spoke so to him to make him feel better and to practice thier german...then there was all the german food and music everyone played around him.

But I'm not talking about them shoving American stuff in my face. What I'm saying is that their radios that they listened to were all American songs. The TV that they watched was American shows. The movies in their movie theatres were all American movies [except for this one about this kid in private school with paralysis over the left side of his body & his whole masturbation and sex life. That movie was fucked.] They didn't change any of their entertainment life for me. That's just how it is . . . . they did expose me to plenty of sick German food. They wanted to expose me to their whole world of German alcoholic beverages [since I was of legal drinking age, there], but that's just not my thing.

I think that makes sense though..i mean theres TONS of american television studios and such..compared to the number that europe has we tower over them so its natural i think that they would be picking up on our shit. And odnt forget television in itself is american cultur..if you dont want americanism in europe you should ban all tvs. And i dont think its a bad thing that many countries want to be like americans..i mean right now e are on top thats just the way it is.. Like the barbarians acted after a while when Rome was at the top of its game..same deal. Perhaps one day when some other country is in the lead the people here will try to be like the people there...oh wait that did happen when the US was still in its infant stages.

I think that if watching the boobtube and tossing back some bigmacs isnt exactly bad..i mean they could be out plowing fields instead right?

Television isnt a culture its an invention, modern TV systems were invented in the US but not the idea of TV itself or the earlier makes.If they dont want americanism they should just turn over the channel.

Why do most people try to compare americanism to wrongness or decay? thats bullshit. I mean if they want to see european peoples go back to thier roots then they can just watch old flicks with the peasants farming for a living.

america is not wrong or decayed, it's the society, the government...america is just a country with fifty states...and if all the people were dead, than it would still be america...so it's the people that result in the decay and wrongness that's so prevailant now a days...
