i believe that religion is not real. it man-made. i think that with so many different people from so many different countries speaking so many different languages couldn't all follow the same religion or the same god because not everyone believed in the same things. so they divided this religious belief (or beliefs) into Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Ba'hai, and so on. this is all fake, made-up stuff. like synthetic cloth. it's not natural. and again Christianity is divided into Catholicism, Protestantism, Roman catholicism, Anglican, Evangelism, and worst of all, those stupid Jehovah's witnesses who come knocking on your door and are desparate enough to preach all about God and how great he is. there are too many religions in this world, it can't possibly be natural. they all have these rules and covenants, half of which they don't even follow. all people following a certain religion have to abide by all the rules and requirements of that religion whether they like it or not. we are not allowed to be individuals. this is not religion, this is mayhem. Chaos. Bedlam. Religious disorder. where can we find real religion???

Until you stop being cynical and completely close-minded about the things you don't understand..I hope no one gives you what you're seeking to understand..you don't deserve it.

but synthetic cloth is MADE UP of natural stuff, if you simplify what its made out of...
so do you mean that there IS one main religion that all the "little" religions (christianity, shinto, etc) are made up of or based upon?

Organized religion is man-made, i agree. The other stuff, goodness knows, some of it might be right somewhere, but you'd think if any one of them were right, there wouldn't be so many of them!

Hello, I do not believe in God, nor Satan... Although I act satanic a lot... I do believe its all made up, but it was made up for a reason... People will make things up to explain things they don't know or are scared to know... I believe there must be some sort of power or energy out there... But nothing like a God nor Satan... I respect people who believe in religion...and I sure as hell hope people respect me even though I don't believe in religion... I'm still a nice person like everyone else...

So much has changed in a week...anyhow, I wonder how much "Lucifer" researched his/her topic...his/her name contradicts his/her point, if he/she doesn't like "religion" as much he/she claims he/she doesn't than why did they choose a name associated with "religion."

After considering on writing an essay-like message (like I did in Preston's thread about myths/legends/prophecies), I figured I'll be short and sweet.

Religion is belief. How can you see with the eyes of an idiot who can't believe two shits to save his life?

I would just like to start out by saying everyone is entitled to their own opinoin and here is mine.

I was baptized and confirmed as a christian (methodist and lutheran) and I am apart of a church that doesn't make me a believer or a better person. However, I can't deny that there a thousands(more or less) of religions with different beliefs then my own. I don't know if i am certain that christianity is the true religion, but that isn't really the question that should be asked. The question should be how can religion be an illusion when millions of people believe in budda, god, satan, etc... This all comes down to your faith and your belief no one can make you a believer you have to be open-minded enough to take something at face value without the proof looking you right in the face. Many have problems and so do I believing in something that is almost fantasy, but the human race does this all the time and not just with religion. If religion is an illusion then love, truth, and whatever else you take at face value has to be also an illusion.
Please don't take what I have said and make it out to be some bashing of your ideas that differ from my own because I'm not doing that I was just excersing my freedom of speech. I really enjoy religious debates and questions because this is a subject that is a never ending battle. You can never prove it wrong or right no matter how good your explanation or reasoning is. This is the beauty of religion it gives us a topic to talk argue/talk about.

religion is man-made. religion is legalistic. not so with christianity. christianity is a lifestyle. us christians choose to live our lives serving God. and telling people about Jesus is part of this service which we perform. the bible isn't really a book of rules. it's a guide. it shows us how we should live our lives, etc. if we mess up then we just repent and move on. christianity is truth.

Yes, I must tend to agree with you Seven. Religion is man made. And man made religions are always full of faults. Satanism being one of the biggest deceivers among the many.
The wonderful and awesome fact of Christianity is that we can say we are not part of a religion but instead, part of a relationship. YES. A relationship with a risen Saviour.
Jesus Christ has indeed risen from the dead, victorious over sin and death and alive for evermore.
Salvation is as simple as believing your Daddy has a gift for you. But just believing he has a gift for you is not enough...you MUST receive the gift in order to take part in all the wonderful things that gift can add to your life.
We, as Christians have died to our old selves and have been made new by the power of God's Holy Spirit living in us.
When we do sin, His blood has already washed us clean.
We acknowledge our mistake(s) and repent, vowing that with God's help and guidance, He will deliver us from this and any other sin that is trying to get a foothold in our life.
God is AWESOME and HE reigns on high.
Blessed be the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
May the Blood of Jesus bind the powers of darkness that are so strong on this site.
In the presence of the Blood of Jesus....all the forces of hell cower is fear............as well they should.
I claim the Blood of Jesus over every soul who is reading this RIGHT NOW.

THE BLOOD OF JESUS
THE BLOOD OF JESUS
THE BLOOD OF JESUS

It washes away all our sins.

AMEN

well, Jesus died for us. his blood was spilled so that we might live. why not talk about it?

This all sounds so cliche and self-righteous

seven7seven you said:

I highly disagree with you on that. A guide doesn't have consequences if you don't follow the guidelines.

Secondly..Why would you want to follow rules on how to live your life? You only have one life..why not live it to the fullest without having to constantly cower in fear of your God.

Basically that is what Christianity, and most religions are based upon. Rules, consequence and the fear factor. In church rarely do they speak of the upside to being a Christian, on the exeption of holidays. It's always about Satan, the apocalypse, and suffering in hell for an eternity. Speaking from all of the churches I've been to...

yes a guide can have consequences. a map is a guide. if you go the wrong way you get lost. as are you.

Secondly..Why would you want to follow rules on how to live your life? You only have one life..why not live it to the fullest without having to constantly cower in fear of your God.

i do live my life to the fullest. i don't cower in fear. i love God and He makes sure i am provided for. everyone needs rules. without rules there would be chaos. even the anarchists aren't stupid enough to think that america (or anywhere else) could servive without rules. besides. God's rules aren't unfair. they make life alot better.
my church actually is not so big on the apocalypse and hell and all that stuff. my pastor preaches truth without having to scare people into believing.
of course, hell is the price you pay for not following Jesus. but, what do you expect. He's the creator.
imagine that you created something that could make it's own decisions. if whatever you made decided to hate you, what would you do?
God offers everyone the choice. it is ours.
i used to be agnostic. i am a christian now. i know what a living hell is like. i know that none of you are truly happy.
God loves everyone and he wants you all to know His love.
