Most of us believe in God. God is good, Satan is bad. How do we know it's not reversed? Satan temps us with pleasures God looks down upon...we take those pleasures. After all without Satans little temptation Eve wouldn't have bit that apple and we wouldn't be here right now, now would we?

Good point! Personaly I don't believe in God, but it's the same in most religions. What most people on't stop to think about is that without Evil, there can be no Good.

Good and evil are subjective, and the majority of people are sheep. They will blindly follow what other people tell them rather than forming their own opinions.

Without darkness, there can be no light. Without evil, there can be no good. I've read Rice's Memnoch and I find that book gives the God/Satan story a good view. The two are best friends, granted they don't see eye to eye and one's pigheaded (God) when somone asked too many questions (Satan before cast out of heaven).

and it's all what each individual thinks evil is. Another board I frequent has had a similar question come up. What is evil really?

:D ;) :) ;) :D

Good and Evil are human concepts. I believe in God, an ultimate power, but if we think it is good or evil depends entirely on our own point of view, as with all things. As for the devil I belive a lot of people take it to literally. The devil is mealy a metaphor for temptation, the voice we all hear when we try to follow a certain path wether it be a life according to the bible or simply giving up smoking, we all have our demons.

first of all its good that your thinking but listen before you post somthing get the story straight, eve didnt bght the damn apple, adam did. n e way you said that if eve hadnt bit that apple( it was really adam) we wouldnt be here, do u know what here is? i dont think you do cuz if u did u wouldnt have said that, here is what brought you to this site looking for an aswer, here is what made u say that satan might be better, you see if he hadnt been tempted by satan and if he hadnt ate hte apple we'd be living in a paradise, where feelings like hate, misery, and depression did not exist, and a;ll hte pleasures that satan had to ofer we wouldnt need cuz we'd be living in our own paradise, so dont hate god because life blows, blame ur beloved satan for putting you in this life of death, think about it

Satan helped us. He told us to eat from the tree of knowledge. Anyone who wants you to be ignorant wants to control you, so God wasn't doing us any favors.

I don't believe any of this stuff, but I love to talk about it.

i believe in god and satan...
but someone once asked me...

How do u know god and satan aren't the same person? And that they have human nature like we do, and have 2 personalitys, like a good side and a bad side.

I don't know someone just asked me that once and it's something to think about.

Interesting train of thought:

According to Christian Doctrine, Satan the snake tempted Eve to eat the apple. She took a bite and handed it to Adam, who also ate it. God got really pissed so Adam and Eve decided to hide from him.

(First problem. Isn't the apple supposed to give you knowledge. Don't you think it would have given them to knowledge to know how stupid it would have been to try to hide from God?)

God tells them they've done something wrong. What is the first thing Adam does? He blames the whole thing on the woman and God at the same time. He tells God, "Hey, the woman YOU gave me, gave me the apple."

So, woman is punished because she took the apple in the first place, and man is punished because he refuses to take responsibility for his own actions.

Now, lets look at history. Up until recently, man has still refused to own up to their actions. In history, women were beaten because men could not control their temper, raped because they could not control their penis, and treated like cattle because men didn't want to be bothered.

Instead of possibly realizing that perhaps they may be responsible for something, man has decided to blame women for all the evil in the world.

(Of course, men now are a different breed entirely. While there are still a few freaks in the world, most men you meet are great guys.)

Is it a good thing we ate the apple? I don't know, before hand we had plenty of food, and ran around naked. Sounds like fun to me. *grin*

Personally, I think God wanted us to eat the apple. I mean who sticks something in the middle of the forest and says you can eat anything, BUT DON'T TOUCH THAT TREE. If God didn't want us to eat the apple, he was a terrible psychologist.

I think God just wanted us to make the personal choice to denounce comfort for knowledge and understanding. How else are we going to appreciate all the good things in life, if we have nothing to compare them too?

the above post is the best explanation i've heard of that (why God would do such an odd thing as put the tree there and tell people not to eat from it).

i believe in god and satan but it's all messed up.

the bible was written in what, hebrew or something that nobody is sure how to translate, so how do we know the modern bible is translated right.

HELLO PPL.

We don't.

Wake the fuck up and understand nothing is know forsure about how stuff was back then.

No religon is 100% right no matter how much they think they r. And if u want to belive 100% of what they tell u i don't care, it dosen't matter to me. How the hell do i know i'm right. I DON'T.
But i'm not pretending i do either. We don't know everything written in the bible is correct but we also don't know that it's wrong.

That's one of those leap of faith deals that ppl talk about.

Is it right...
Is it wrong...
Is it both...
Do u not know...
Do u have no fucking idea what i'm talking about...

the post from Kitashla was very well put, and i agree with you on many of your theories, in that god wanted us to eat the apple, well perhaps, it does fit perfectly into being gods master plan, whatever that may be, and you brought about a very intruiging topic, one which i shall look into with great adept, but to the others who say that satan showed us the way to knowledge and wisdom, that he( in a sense) freed us, well take a look around, what do u see? why are you here angry at and possibly hating god? what life do you lead, and do u like it? my point is that if satan has freed us why are we condemed to this life of death? You call this freedom, living a life where mostly anger and depression grow, no my freind, we were not freed, we were incarcerated...

That only depends on how you look at it though.

I personally see life as a gift, as an adventure. Every trial I've gone through, every tragedy I've endured, all the crap I've had to deal with in my life, has been a learning experiance.

I feel I am supposed to walk away from this life a little wiser then before. I don't see life as an endless torment of death and horror. I deal with each horror as it comes upon me, and do my best to learn from it. Of course, the learning takes forever, because I'm too busy fuming about what I'm currently dealing with.

I appreciate the good stuff I've had in my life enough to know that the bad stuff is almost always worth it.

for all those who believe in the bible you should realize that it could never be reversed because god is the ultimate power, according to the bible and satan is his servant. now for those none believers (not saying i am either) if satan was truly good would he not have thrown god out of heaven, but who's to say that either is wrong...did anyone ever think that they work together as a team in building one's life through the choices we all make... free will is given to all and god and satan sit back and watch what we do with it... not there fault if we as humans are morons with no thought or care as to what we do or who we harm. we in all reality are no different then animals and sometimes i believe that we are lower then animals. whether its reversed or not shouldn't matter the real question is when as humans are we going to stop trying to figure out who's right and wrong and do what we need as a race to make our world better. i personally think that you need both god/satan to make things equal. :p

Why, why do people say things like life is hell..we are incarcerated..whatever. Yeah, life sucks sometimes but I've always believed Earth to be a mix of Heaven & Hell.
You've got to be a complete pessimistic person to say life completely sucks, unless you live under extreme circumstances like homelessness, poverty or war. Even so, the WHOLE world is not a disease. I pity the pathological mind.

I wonder if Eve was a fine ass bitch..
