i saw it tonight... and i cried literally... ive not cried in like years and this one put me over the edge... i dont suggesty anyone see this because even an atheist would have ahard time sitting through this film from the human drama alone... i feel like shit.. godd night. fuck mel gibson.

People were fucking violent back in the day. I was thinking about it today as my 65 year old dad was telling me at dinner "People these days are crazy...things used to be so much simpler when I was a kid."

I was just thinking about how they used to throw christians to lions, nail people to trees and post them up, lock people in cages until they died of thirst, sacrifice children by throwing them into volcanos and how people in the middle east within the last 30 years have treated their people.


I think people who wear crucifixes are really fucking morbid people. You're wearing a death device on your neck. If Jesus was killed by a bullet, would you wear a little gun? What about a guillotine?......If he was hung would you wear a noose?...sick shit if you ask me..

THe crucifix is a reminder that all of your sins yadda yadda have already been forgiven for the most part at the cost of the life of a man who was innocent. Thats why i wear mine...

Ya know theres a lot of jokes around non cathlic churches that they are catholic-lite they have the same stuff but half the guilt, i never knew what it meant that catholics felt guilt until i saw this film.... to see such a man put through such a horrid, horrid and inhuman act for my own benefit to see him suffer it willingly so that I along with the rest of human kind can enter heaven and such made me feel like i was the one nailing him into the cross... it was a dreadful movie...

I do feel strongly about that because I do believe that Jesus actually existed. I do want to see the movie but since reading Billy's posts there, its kinda got me thinking about the actual emotional drama and watching how jesus suffered like that... The romans were nasty when it came to execution. Being crucified must have been the most painful way of execution possible. Kinda sick. Apparently they sometimes broke the legs of people crucified so they would just hang there. They didn't break Jesus's leg I don't think but they did ram a spear right up his side, through his lungs and piercing his heart. The crucifix was supposed to suffocate you if you hung there too long. I dunno, my boyfriend told me all of this, I quite dumb to that till he told me...

I'd like to see some one do a historically accurate film based around the time of the inquisition.

people need to see this movie for one reason. it's not a movie about Christianity. Christians are religious zealots, and Jesus was everything opposite that. When people see this movie, it helps them to understand that the man that died that day had love in his eyes, whereas so many "Christians" do not.
I saw it. I cried so much. That guy.. Christians need to rethink just how sincere they are when looking at this.

I read that people are wearing a primitive nail on a necklace to symbolize the crucifixion. Now that is rather graphic.

. . . I wonder if I could kill a prominent religious figurhead with a pez dispenser and get a religion started.
