isn't it the less grip you have the more they spin

unless you don't have enough grip to get the car moving so you just sit there and spin a tire (no limited slip differential, damn it).

your car was designed a good deal by ford europe as was the focus. especially the exterior styling. most all toyotas are made in the states. nissan is pretty close there as well. part manufacturing is from all over the world no matter who you look at. old cliches die hard but there aren't really any companies that are national. the closest left would be porsche still being highly german designed and built. something about that buy american attitude really chaps me since its pretty ignorant in this day and age. but way, whatever floats your boat.

Toyota i believe is still owned by the Japanese which means most of the procedes from the car are going to a forign economy. get it? Its not like Mitsubish whic is now an american owned company where the cars are built in the US.. Toyota truly is a non american company.. you can disagree all you want but it doesnt change the fact that Toyotas are still Jap cars built in Japan and only assembled in the US.. so sorry...I dont drive Japanese cars. A little American loyalty would also go a long way in this day and age if selfish me me me types would buy american 1st whenever they have the chance, when it deals with cars this is a very obvious option.. it is not when it comes to TVs however.

forget not also that Ford Europe is STILL an American country any cars sold in Europe owned by ford will send a nice chunk of cash back to the US economy.

k, you make no sense or points. profit off of any product goes into many things. engineering, manufacturing, the man, assembly, distributers, stores (dealerships). yes some of the cash is fed back into japan. its called international. however, a good percentage goes to the assembly workers (american), manufacturing (global and american, such as gibbs diecasting for which i worked), dealerships (american for this market), transportation and distribution (american).

turns out americans are on the design team for north america too. research before believing.
http://www.toyota.com/about/operations/

now lets look at ford and gm. both MAJOR global players. design normally handled by american and european teams, parts manufactured globally, assembly in canada, america and mexico. dealerships, distribution all same due to cars prepared for north american market.

http://www.ford.com/en/heritage/history/default.htm

another tidbit is that ford has been designing there vehicles in metric (gasp) since at least the early 80's if not far before. *information from a ford mustang seat drawing in college (open headrest model).

welcome to a global economy. it isn't going away no matter how much you complain. the companies you believe in aren't american anymore. however, we still are the industrial leader and you can be proud that many of the largest global companies started in america.
