View Full Version : France to send battalion to aid Iraq
Sixgun_Symphony 01-30-03, 12:36 Paris -
In a stunning reversal of policy, French President Jacques Chirac announced today that the French government will be supporting the War on Terror after all. Five hundred soldiers from the elite L’Abandonnement du Field d’Honneur Battalion (French Surrender Battalion) of the Legion Etrangere (Foreign Legion) are in the process of shipping out to Iraq where they will assist the elite Iraqi Republican Guards in their inevitable surrender to the overwhelming might of the American Armed Forces. “Eet ees important to be haughty and insufferable when surrendering,” said Colonel Philippe de Peepee, the Commanding Officer of the Surrender Battalion, who has personally surrendered in over 200 battles going back to Dien Bien Phu in 1954. “We French are the world masters at surrendering, n’est ce pas, not like you arrogant Americans who never surrender. Ha, I spit on your filthy American victories.”
President Chirac also announced that his government will be sending 3000 advisors from the elite Force du Collaborateur Francaise (French Collaboration Force) to assist the Iraqis in collaborating with the Americans while pretending to be part of a non-existent resistance movement.
Iron's Rite 01-31-03, 01:21 Why the Fuck did I even bother reading this?
I consider it to be quite a serious issue when countries like France and Germany would rather join with Iraq because they are more frightened of the U.S.
TheBladeRoden 01-31-03, 01:31 let me guess - no link right?
Iron's Rite 01-31-03, 01:44 You expect too much Blade Roden.
Iron's Rite 01-31-03, 02:28 Consider the following excerpt from www.thismodernworld.com
(After this I have to go to bed assuming I'll be able to sleep and that I won't have nightmares if I do sleep)
On to slightly more important matters . . .
When you read about the evils of Saddam's regime, it all most begins to make sense. Maybe they're right, you think. maybe the Iraqi people really will be grateful to have been liberated from this repressive murderous, torturous regime.
And then you read this
The U.S. intends to shatter Iraq "Physically, emotionally, and psychologically" by raining down on it's people as many as 800 cruise missiles in two days.
The Pentagon battle plan aims not only to crush Iraqi troops,
but also wipe out power and water supplies in the capital,
Baghdad.
It is based on a strategy known as "shock and awe",
concieved at the national defense universitty in Washington,
in which between 300 and 400 cruise missiles would fall on Iraq each day for two consectutive days. It would be more then twice the number of missiles launched during the entire 40 days of the 1991 Gulf War.
"There will not be a safe place in Baghdad, " a Pentagon official told America's CBS News after a briefing on the plan.
"The sheer size of this has never been seen before, never been contemplated before."
And then you come to your senses.
If this is true and not some kind of planted Psyop story designed to freak out the Iraqis--well, fuck us all. Does even the most bloodthirsty warblogger honestly imagine that the Iraqi people are going to be grateful, if they even manage to survive a two day blitz of 300-400 cruise missiles?
Sometimes the cure really is worse then the disease.
Anyone who seriously believes that Saddam had anything to do (knowingly) with Al Quaeda obviously never heard of the Iran Iraq war.
That whole conflict was about fundamentalisim, Iraq were totally against it, the muslim religion was neutered in Iraq as it is in Turkey, the religion has no real power in the stste anymore.
And Why is Saddam so against fundamentalisim?
Because of his mother, he didn't like the way she was treated in his early life, one of the first things he did when after seizing power was to declare women as equal citizens (despite whay Dubbya might be spouting)
Sixgun_Symphony 01-31-03, 09:23 It's a parody folks, as in "cheese eating surrender monkey's".
As far as Germany & France, they are alone as the rest of Europe is backing the USA. Check out yesterday's Wall Street Journal for details.
thefinalw0rd 01-31-03, 21:24 Yeah, it was fairly obvious that he was joking...I wasn't TOO sure, but then the quote had the "Eet ees"...
Iron's Rite 02-01-03, 11:56 I knew it was joking. I just don't think it's funny.
Sixgun_Symphony 02-01-03, 14:45 R U French?
Iron's Rite 02-01-03, 19:17 What if I am?
You have already accused me of being a terrorist simply because I feel that this war is a horrible idea that can only lead to world war III.

Just ignore him. Either hes smart enough to quit harassing you and making an ass of himself or he isnt. Simple as that.
You are not a terrorist. And this campain definitely does have the potential to escelate to WWIII. It just runs down to what or what we dont do that will lead to that eventuality.
I do personally think the US should be focussing more on N. Korea than Iraq. North Korea is more likely to try something drastic while the US is distracted with Iraq.
Indeed this is a volatile situation.
thefinalw0rd 02-01-03, 22:54 Yes, it is. I'll just echo what Weasel said.
Sixgun_Symphony 02-01-03, 23:15 I think we are trying to keep the situation in Iraq from turning into a situation like North Korea.
I am sure that we will soon deal with N. Korea.

But North Korea is more of a threat. I think.
Sixgun_Symphony 02-02-03, 18:42 North Korea is a threat because Bill Clinton gave advanced missle technology to Red China to get money from The ChiCom Govt. for his reelection campaign.
A couple years later, North Korea shot a missle over Japan. Its obvious that the ChiComs gave much of that technology to North Korea.
Bill Clinton and the so called "peacemaker" Bill Clinton had also foolishly assumed that North Korea would honor its pledge not to build an atomic bomb in exchange for food and other aid back in 1994.
Now we have to deal with Norht Korea and its too bad that Truman had not listened to Gen. MacArthur as we could have taken care of these enemies a long time ago.
Make no mistake, we will deal with North Korea.

If it was about oil then we would have taken everything twelve years ago.
