Just wanted to drop by and say hi. It has been awhile.

I apologize from my abrupt leaving back in the summer but I had some very personal matters to attend to and am still doing so.
My family and I have been living for the last 8 months with type 1 Diabetes in our family. My oldest son, who just turned 8 came down with it back in August. It has been a challenge for us all to say the least but also a blessing as it has drawn us closer together as a family.

I hope to pop in from time to time and begin posting again asap. I do miss chattiing with you guys. I always have plenty of examples from this board to use while teaching my Sunday School class.

I trust everyone is doing well. I see lots of new faces and even a Believer or two. I hope to talk to you soon.

Sincerely,
Samichking

Well hello there Rogue.......ya big goob...lol. How have you been? You have an "interesting" way to say hi to say the least.
Uh, you where saying 'hi' I hope.

Jordyn, I don't believe I ever talked to you so I must say it is nice to meet you.

SirVLCIV, it is nice to meet you as well. I am curious to know what I would be doing if I "pulled a Exhorting" on you.

And Marshwiggle. Cool name. Aren't you a character from Narnia? I am more than happy to be back so that you and I can converse. Nice to meet you also.

I have seen many new names that were not here in times past and I suppose that is to be expected. I give this place one thing; it gets lots of traffic.

Waterbearer, I'm still not sure what things you heard but if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will be glad to try to answer them if I can.

See y'all around
Sincerely,
Samichking

Good morning Waterbearer,

No, I am serious. I look forward to conversing with you. I know you have differing opinions and that's cool.
Isn't that why we are here? I enjoy discussing the many different opinions shared at this bored.
I am sure we will disagree on several things but that doesn't mean I don't look forward to talking to you.

And yes, we can get along. Thanks for your kindness.

Sincerely,
Samichking

Hey, that's cool! It's nice to see more open mided people in here.

So, how is your family? I hope well...

where does the name Samichking come from?

Do you just love to eat?

My family is doing well. Thanks for asking. My 8 year old son has trouble in the mornings getting motivated to get ready for school. He has already figured out how to use Diabetes to control us when he wants to. By that I mean if he doesn't want to do something right away, he tells us he "feels low". By that he means his blood sugar is low and he needs somthing sweet to pick him up real quick. But overall, he handles it really well.....even when it isn't going well for him. And he has many days when it doesn't go so well.
Thanks for asking though, that was kind of you.

LOL.......did you notice how I mispelled "board" in the last post?
Freudian slip?

Anywho, the name Samichking is just a wheels off goofy nickname I decided to use when signing up here at the Forum.
Being a country boy from East Texas, I loved to eat what civilized folk call sandwhiches. And seeing how after 10 years of marriage and not being able to excercize like I used to, I have put on a large number of pounds....so much so that my weight is 238 on a six foot 2 inch frame. So, I figured that being the King of sandwhiches that I used to be called by a friend of mine, I would just turn the name into an East Texas stereotype and hence Samichking was born. Also, I figured it would be a pretty innocuous name to go with here at the Forum.

You will find that I am just a normal goob. I do have my opinions as Dyshade and some others will tell you and I do hold fast to the Bible and the God who inspired it, but I also like to hear from others and their faiths. I like to challenge people sometimes which can get rather tense as I attempt to dig deeper into their religion to find out why they believe what they believe all the while attempting to defend my own faith in a credible and hopefully mature manner.

I have been accused more than once of coming here and trying to "save everybody". That is not possible. I am actually here to plant the seed of faith in Jesus Christ and discuss faiths different from mine. As I mentioned earlier, it sometimes leads to tense discussions, but I believe that when it gets right down to it, our faiths are very personal and sometimes when there are differing opinions, it can be misunderstood to be an attack. I pray that I never come across as attacking another because their faith and religion is different from mine. My hope is to discuss the differences in our faiths and share why we hold to such beliefs.

But like I said, I do look foward to discussing things with you Waterbearer. I am assuming by your "avatar" that you are of the Wiccan faith or at least nature based in some way? Forgive me please if I assume incorrectly. I look forward to learning what you believe and why if you are interested in sharing.

Please don't take any followup questions I may pose to you as threatening...it is just my way of digging deeper.

Thanks waterbearer again for your kindness.

Sincerely,
Samichking

please call me "water"...

and I am not wiccan. I have my own spiritual beliefs that cannot be labeled by any popular name.

I am a witch though. I used to be an Episcopalian. And I have a solid background in the Christian faith. I am not anti-christian, I am not anti-anything really, in a religious sense. I have the opinion that any type of spirituality is a good thing, and people will believe what they need to believe in order to find their way, therefore, I don't get involved in too many discussions anymore unless someone is obviously putting my beliefs down, and that is on a different level really.

I have a thread called "There are constant questions to me about these things", which is on the religion board - if you're interested in any of that information... well, feel free

and as for digging, well Shadow and I have had those discussions already - so I doubt that you could offend me. *grins*
and forgive me if I sound incoherant, I am taking painkillers for a tooth problem... so I am not focusing at that well.

I'm glad to hear about your son, it's a terrible feeling as a parent when your children have an illness that you cannot fix... very frightening.

Hi again Water,

I am curious about you once being Episcapalion and now being a witch. What turned your heart if you don't mind my asking.

Sincerely,
Samichking
