because they are smart, they have great senses of humor, they are into sci-fi/fantasy...and they generally are not used to women paying attention to them, so they are ripe for the picking and really nice to their gfs.
The man I married was the president of his D&D club in high school and into RP-ing, music, sports...anything that involved stats. 
As for the geek lifestyle, I would say it involves lots of computers, gaming, rp-ing, technology, anything with stats (like music or sports). If he knows how to build and troubleshoot anything about your computer, he's a bonified geek! Also, if you can get into a deep discussion on the finer points of JRR Tolkien and how it reflects the modern world, i'd say you were a geek.  |
Thing is, many people I know (male and female) have those attributes. I love music, RP'ing, fantasy, sci-fi, JRR Tolkien's work etc. I like how a computer makes one's life easier but I really doubt you could call me a "geek". Or in fact any of the guys I know who like I said, have those attributes!
