well my theory is not to condone cheating, but to justify open relationships as being a feasable and reasonable expectation, that it's scientifically "normal" for higher species to seek out several different partners rather than the monogamous relationships that few creatures, even the lower based lifeforms practice. It was just a bonus to find out that the "coolidge effect" can influence sexual responsiveness...that's always a nice bonus in partner type relationships.
