Carl Jung was interested with primitive mentallity, not because he was looking for problems in their nerosis, he knew he couldn't determine that because of what you said jordyn. He traveled to Tunis and Sahara desert to observe them first hand. He obviously couldn't understand them but he observed their gestures, mannerisms, facial expressions, and emotional reactions. He adapted his word-association methods by seeing their reactions when he talked about a subject, and when their face registered emotion he knew he had touched a significant subject. He did the same in India and Ceylon when he was studing eastern religion and mythology. Doing this might of helped him understand the modern persons personalities/pschology
