I do think the subject matter of this thread is Reiki after all, or Touch Therapy which forms part of the same basic technique of Energetic Healing. Reiki is indeed from the East as is acupuncture but different in the sense that acupuncture uses a tool, i.e. needles. Energy healing is when a practitioner taps into Universal Healing energy and in itself becomes the tool. It is a phenominal experience and is, I would say a little bit more than just mind over matter. With that I mean the reciever of this healing does not necessarily have to believe in it for it to have effect but of course being receptive to this kind of energetic vibration would go a long way to promote a prolonged effect. Acupunture also works on an energetic as well as physical level, needles are inserted into specific points along the meridian lines that cover the human body from head to toe. The needles are manipulated to enliven these energy points, and sometimes moxi herbs are lit on the end of the needles for added effect. I would recommend Reiki for those that feel something like acupuncture to be a little bit intrusive and a bit afraid of pain. It's a very gentle form of healing and the sense of peace one experiences through this type of healing is simply sublime! |
