hmmm.......i don't know man, there are times i have labelled people as posers and felt justified in doing so.....

for example: a friend of mine in high school was a big band nerd dork, i on the other hand was a metal head, now he started copying some of my styles (such as buying a leather jacket, listening to metallica, tool, COF, etc) but i was cool with it.......then this girl comes along, total pearl jam freak, then all of sudden this guy goes out and buys like 3 pearl jam t-shirts without even knowing the band at all, that is a poser to me.....

another friend of mine i label very much, to his face, that he is a poser, cuz he is: he used to listen to old 60-70's rock and owned a fender bass, he meets me and goes all out gothic (listening to acid bath, type-o, COF, wumpscut, etc) and seels his bass and buys a warlock bass, then he meets prior guy mentioned above and goes all out punk (where did that come into play?), then he meets this guy that was all about modelling and wore expensive shit, my friend copies that, then my friend meets these ravers and now he too is a raver.......alot of forms this man has taken

i do not think it is so much of being a poser if it is a subtle transcition, i mean i went from a metal head to a more gothy approach, but did so in a period of years......as for these people, they went from A-C in a matter of weeks, to me that is a justified poser; however, within time you may transition from C-D and that is ok, but it's just when do something becuz it seems like a fad or sum shit you are labbeled as a poser.......

it is ok to adopt new ideas and let certain things rub off onto you, but to all of sudden switch an identity is just bewildering, let it be subtle and try to fully understand what you are about to become before you jump right into it......
