if you questioned the concept that it was all the work of god in the 12th century you would by crucified for heracy.
Science doesn't offer all the answers and doesn't needly wrap them up in some easy to swallow pill.
It doesn't adovcate the whole thing to some omnipotent uber-being. It makes the universe to be complex and wonderous and mysterious. It makes room to explore. It gives humanity a small grip on the first threshold of existance. The fact that it is incredibly complex and beyond what we know make sit more tangible. Have everything explained takes all the fun out of unravelling the mystery.
