Jesus had to pay the price for our sins, he redeemed us by himself, and he gets full credit.
This is something the Jews dont understand(from what I understand of the Jews), they expected a warrior king like David to come back. He will be much more than that on the second return.

But he first had to redeem us, and the only way to do that is to pay the price. What you think he would have cheated and used some sort of anaesthetic on the cross.
He took that punishment for you and I, when he didnt deserve it.

I believe that hell is a seperation from God, and I believe that Jesus went there as part of the price.
