There's a saying - hear all, believe nothing.
Interesting perspective and one I would mostly agree on. Are we a product of society? Probably.
Think about how you would have turned out if you had no guidance as a child, no parents to reprimand you. No school, no law. You'd probably turn out a savage as this experiment requires non-envolvement from society.
Obviously you'd find it pretty hard to exist in our society today as you live a life of one rule - yours. You'd not know how to communicate or interact with people. So whilst we are programmed from an early age it does have the benefit of making us 'civilised' and give us the ability to interact with each other. It's the lucky ones who can break free from the programming.
