I understand how some people can come to hate religion. The problem is religious people who take on a "holier than thou" attitude. I am a Roman Catholic and see this sort of attitude in the vast overwhelming majority of members of the religion. This angers and upsets people who are not part of this religion because they obviously do not appreciate being treated like heathens or second-class citizens because they do not have the same beliefs. If people would simply learn to respect the beliefs of others and try not to force their own on unwilling participants, hatred of religion would most likely dissipate. It seems like a simple solution, but human beings are proud and so many are set in their ways and convinced that they are right and that all others are evil and wrong. People just need to learn to ignore those who hate religion as well as those who try to force it on others. They ought to be treated as one would treat a bully because in a sense both types of people are trying to force you to change in some way against your own will.

If you find a four-leaf clover,
It will bring happiness;
But
don't tell Anyone
Where its white flower
blooms
Or how many leaflets from its stem extend.
The four-leaved clover.
I only want your happiness, knowing
I can never be yours to share it.
