I write songs about hacking up your ex girlfriend AND her new boyfriend that are actually very pretty! LOL! The line up in my band is vocals and acoustic guitar (that's me), violin, cello, bass and drums... so we have a sort of gypsy, old world sound and the melodies are really sweet. But when it comes to writing lyrics I like to write about things that EVERYONE feels but no one likes to talk about..... like when you run into your Ex and all you can do is think of a million different ways to butcher her! ; ) But I always make it a point to include in the lyrics something like "I know myself too well, I don't have the courage to carry out my dreams..." because I believe in being honest in the lyrics. Yes, I HONESTLY want to hack her up! But I also honestly know that I would never do it.
I also write a lot of satire and dark satyrical stuff. I have two CDs out on Projekt at the moment and a 3rd on the way. The first one The Devil's Bris is VERY gypsy, pirate, vampire type music with lots of funny and twisted lyrics. I think the best song on that CD is When You're Evil which is a parody of people who think they are really evil but they are really just mildly irritating! LOL!
On my second CD Almost Human I like Dead Girls (about dating the deceaced!) and The Headless Waltz (about cutting off people's heads...including your own. ; )
I am now working on the 3rd CD called Boo Hoo. It should be out in Feb 2002.
It's a break up record!!!! so there's going to be a lot of whining and calling for the head of a certain un-named individual on that one! LOL!!!
