Why are there no protests against this of a serious nature? |
Personally, I think my country has gotten very weak defensively. WE are supposed to be able to handle two major (and one minor) conflicts. Right now we are hard pressed to do one and one. But that's not the only thing.
If my country is expected (and because of past practice we always are, and we are glad to be) to support other countries, and take the lead, we have to be able to fight anyone off. It's the way it has been since world war one over here. It's a large burden, but one we have taken on, so we have to deal with the repercussions. Give and take as always. Do I always like it? NO. But I also know what could happen if we don't do it so...
And we could obliterate a lot right now, but we've chosen not to, and we've stood by that, and if you think about it, except for a few occasions, if America has promised something, we have kept our word (not ALWAYS) but nobody is perfect
