Playstation with one year ahead of the competition has a vast number of games already available for it.Now, not all games are good, but some Great games are Gran Turismo 3 and the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 2:Sons of Liberty.....Now The Gamecube is more of a family machine with gams such as Lugi's Mansion and Super Smash Brothers:Melee are good games.For me the X-Box has not won me over. The only good games I see for it is Dead Of Alive 3 and Gotham Racing.Magazines have criticize Halo and Munch's Oddessy as great games for the X-Box....Which one would you choose.....I don't know...but its better to purchase a system by what Games he likes and not the system!!!! Find out what type of generes he likes like Action Adventure, Sposrts, Fighting Games, RPG, or other....Then decide what games is avaiable for what system and which one is best for brother.
