heres my take on it.

man hates to feel alone so he creates something to run to when he's sad and to worship to feel like his life has purpose to it. he talks to another man and tells him of great things that his god has done for him and is blatently general on the subject so as not to be dissproved. eventually coincedences happen and these are precieved as miracles. so these miraculus one in a million things happen and so something must have done it. oh hey god did it. its a miracle and god exists because surly there has to be a god for such a thing to happen. then some people write a story about a few one in a million chance happenings and elaborate on them and then they try to translate it into another language and things get even further taken out of context and there we go an omnificent being known as god.
