I honestly don't think so. Even though humans are technically animals, I've known vegans that readily digested, um, "human meat byproducts" so a vegan could probably utilize the cuke and then chop it up for a salad later. Washing optional.

Of course, they also have non-gelatin capsules for sale in health food stores. Can you imagine buying a bottle of 200 Tylenol capsules and having to transfer them from their original casings? I just don't have that kind of time...or inclination.
