Whoever wrote this is a complete dickhead. "not just because"... what the fuck? do you really think they'd put something ELSE into their ps3? they put it in there BECAUSE they own the patent! fuckwit.
I don't like sony. but then again, i haven't bought either player. I could buy a HD-DVD for cheap, but I won't.
whoever said that it is all over has jumped to conclusions. WAL-MART isn't every store around the globe. it isn't "won" or whatever until there are no more HD-DVD drives or discs being manufactured.
wal-mart may have spoken, but has the Porn industry spoken yet? from what i heard, HD-DVD is alot cheaper for makers... and alot of porn companies have bought it for that reason. apparently, porn made vhs over betamax.
i still think it's way too early. then again, thats what analysists and journalists get paid to do. make speculations. so sure, they're gonna make em as soon as possible.
I agree with Dy. after all, High Definition Optical Media is only worth buying if you have a High Definition Television.
SD DVD works on even your granny's old telly. Digital may be becoming a global standard, but HD isn't. SD DVD and SD TV channels will be around for alot longer.
