As far as anime goes, there are some really great ones, but unfortunately too many that are exactly the same shit over and over....

but there are a few that I really like:

Vampire Hunter D (both movies)
Trigun
Witch Hunter Robin
The Death Note
Devil May Cry (can't seem to find an english translation)
Cowboy Bebop
