Free will exists. The other options are quite unthinkable.
If free will did not exist we would all follow prescribed pathways throughout life which in turn would mean that something preordained that pathway. Yet another wonderful way for those of the religious persuasion to provide some proof of intelligent design.
I believe in chaotic patterns and strange coincidence but certainly not in intelligent design or destiny. Both of the latter make for great fantastic tales but are not a part of reality.
We live our lives in accordance to our Will. You create and design your living rhythm. According guilt to anything else for your life is a common cop-out.
