I saw an episode of Dateline or something like it trying to solve Spontaneous Combustion, the logical answer is the Wick effect:

I believe this to be the answer so many look for, as the other possibilities are so ridiculous. However those answers may only seem ridiculous now, and quite logical later.

In short, this subject fascinates me!
