Disney didn't fuck up hitch-hikers. sadly enough, what people consider horrible compared to the other versions and the books, was Adams' own work (albeit completed by another) and his dream.
If it wasn't for Disney, it wouldn't have been made. the amount of trouble they had getting money for it and how many years it took to get the project under way was insane.
I like the way Burton sticks to stories pretty damn closely. As close as possible it seems usually.
I think he could do it well. his use of darkness and colour and emphasis would do the story real justice.
and the frankenweenie thing is just brilliant
