I wouldn't buy a console for one game either, but then I'm also banking on the fact that Sony says they've got several dozen games set for release in the next couple quarters. Of course, if most of those games are available for other consoles as well and not exclusive to the PS3, then I suppose I should ask whether I should bother.
I'm just not over the 360s "red ring of death" incidents. I'm not keen on buying a console that just might melt down for no good reason.
Now, from what I've seen of Assassin's Creed, that might be a game almost worth buying a console for...
